Cosnap Event Guest Terms (private events and weddings)

Effective Date: 26 October 2026 · Last Updated: 30 October 2026

Version 1, effective 26 October 2026

These terms apply when you join a private event on Cosnap, such as a wedding, birthday or party, through an invite link or code. They add to the Cosnap User Agreement and Privacy Policy. If they conflict, these terms apply to the event.

1. Who's who

  • The host created the event, together with any co-hosts they add.

  • The photographer is the professional the host linked to the event, if there is one.

  • Guests are the people who joined through an invite.

  • Cosnap is Cosnap Photos LLC, which runs the app and website.

2. Joining

  • You can join only through an invite link or code the host shared.

  • The host can see who joined. Other guests see your display name. Only the event owner sees members' email addresses.

  • The host can change your role, remove you, or ban you. A banned guest can't rejoin, and their photos are hidden.

  • Invite links can expire, run out of uses or be turned off by the host.

  • You need a Cosnap account. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must manage your account (see the User Agreement).

3. What you can see

  • The host decides which sets of the photographer's photos guests can see. Some sets stay private to the host.

  • Guest photos appear once the host approves them, or straight away if the host has approval switched off.

  • Whether you can download photos is up to the host and the photographer. When downloads are allowed, you may save photos for your own personal, non-commercial use only. Don't post other people's photos publicly, or sell them, without their permission.

4. Adding your own photos ("guest uploads")

When you upload a photo, you confirm that:

  • you took it, or you have the right to share it;

  • it doesn't infringe anyone's copyright (for example, don't re-upload the professional photographer's photos);

  • sharing it with this event's host and guests doesn't break any law or anyone's reasonable expectation of privacy.

You must not upload:

  • nudity or sexual content

  • anything sexualising or endangering a child

  • violence, hate or harassment

  • photos taken somewhere private (such as a bathroom or changing room)

  • photos of someone who asked not to be photographed

  • spam, or photos that aren't from this event

Photos that include children are part of family events; share only photos you would be comfortable with the child's parent seeing, and remove any if a parent asks.

5. What happens to your photos

  • Processing: Cosnap removes location and camera data from your photos and makes resized copies (up to 4096 pixels on the long edge). It deletes the original file it received.

  • Never face-matched: guest photos are never used for face recognition or face matching.

  • Approval and removal:

    • The host may approve, hide or remove your photos at any time.

    • Cosnap may hide or remove any photo, or suspend an account, that breaks these terms or the law, or that is reported and found to be a problem.

    • You can delete your own uploads at any time.

  • License:

    • You keep ownership of your photos.

    • You give Cosnap permission to store, process and show them to the event's host, photographer and guests, and to operate the event.

    • You give the host and the photographer permission to view and keep your photos, and to share them for personal, non-commercial purposes.

  • When the event is deleted, guest uploads are deleted from Cosnap's storage within 30 days. (The code deletes them at once; backups follow the normal cycle.)

6. Reporting and safety

  • Any guest can report a photo from the photo's menu. The host is notified.

  • A photo that 3 guests report is hidden for everyone until the host reviews it.

  • The host can pass a report to Cosnap. Cosnap reviews reports it receives within 24 hours and may keep the photo, remove it, or remove the uploader.

  • To report urgent or illegal content directly, email info@cosnap.ai, or use Profile → Contact Support in the app.

  • If you're in a photo and want it removed, report it with "I'm in this photo and want it removed".

7. Copyright complaints

If you believe a photo infringes your copyright, send a notice to info@cosnap.ai.

8. Face matching at private events

Guest uploads are never face-matched. The photographer's photos at a private event are not face-matched.

9. Ending

You can leave an event at any time. Leaving doesn't delete photos you uploaded; delete them first if you want them gone. If the host removes or bans you, your uploads are hidden.

Hosts

If you create or host a private event, the Host Terms (cosnap.ai/event-host-terms) also apply to you.
