Data Deletion Instructions
Effective Date: 16 August 2026 · Last Updated: 16 August 2026
This page explains how to permanently delete your Cosnap account and the data associated with it, including any data obtained through third-party sign-in methods such as Facebook Login, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple.
Delete Your Account — iOS App
If you use the Cosnap iOS app, you can delete your account yourself at any time:
Open the Cosnap app and go to Profile.
Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account.
Confirm the deletion.
Delete Your Account — Web or Any Other Request
Self-service account deletion on the Cosnap website is not available yet. To request deletion of a web account, or any account you cannot access directly, email us:
Email: info@cosnap.ai
Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
Include the email address associated with your Cosnap account. If you signed up or logged in using Facebook Login, please say so — this helps us locate your account.
We process email deletion requests within 7 business days of receipt.
What Gets Deleted
A confirmed deletion request removes:
Account Information: name, email address, and profile details.
Biometric Identifiers: facial embeddings derived from your photos.
Photos: original uploaded images and matched event photos tied to your account.
Activity Data: login history and device information associated with your account.
Timeline
Active Systems: your data is removed from active systems within 30 days of a confirmed deletion request.
Backups: copies retained in disaster-recovery backups are permanently purged within 90 days.
Facebook Login Users
If you created your Cosnap account or logged in using Facebook Login, Cosnap does not keep a separate copy of your Facebook-provided data outside your Cosnap account. Deleting your Cosnap account — via the iOS app or by emailing us as described above — deletes all data obtained through Facebook Login (such as your name, email address, and profile photo) along with the rest of your account data, on the same timeline described above.
Removing the Cosnap app from your Facebook settings (Facebook Settings > Apps and Websites) disconnects Facebook Login for future sign-ins but does not, by itself, delete your existing Cosnap account. Use one of the methods above to delete the account itself.
