AI Transparency and Logic Disclosure
Last Updated: 30 October 2026
In accordance with global AI regulations, including the EU AI Act and California’s Automated Decision-Making Technology (ADMT) standards, Cosnap Photos LLC provides this disclosure regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence within our platform. Our photo-matching service relies on automated systems to facilitate the delivery of event photographs to registered users.
How the AI Works (The Logic)
The Cosnap platform utilizes a machine learning algorithm to perform facial matching. The process follows a specific mathematical logic:
Facial Analysis: The AI detects a human face within an uploaded image.
Vector Generation: The system analyzes distinct facial landmarks—such as the distance between eyes and the contour of the jaw—to create a unique numerical vector or "embedding."
Similarity Comparison: The AI compares the numerical vector of your reference image against vectors generated from photos uploaded by event photographers.
Decision Threshold: Similarity is scored from 0 to 100. If the similarity score between two vectors meets a predefined threshold, the system concludes a "match" has occurred and delivers the photo to your gallery. A "found new photos of you" notification needs a similarity of at least 90. When you search for your own photos, matches need at least 70. When photographers and brands group faces into People in their own albums, faces are grouped automatically at 80 or above and suggested for review from 65.
Photo Content Tagging
Cosnap also uses AI (Claude, through AWS Bedrock) to tag the content of photos, such as objects and colors, so that brands can search their photo libraries. This content tagging uses no face data.
Purpose and Impact of the AI
The primary purpose of this AI is to automate the organization and delivery of digital media. The "significant decision" made by the system is the identification of a user within an image for the purpose of photo delivery. This system is not used for profiling, behavioral advertising, or training third-party machine learning models.
Human Oversight and Accountability
While the matching process is automated, Cosnap Photos LLC maintains human oversight protocols:
Right to Appeal: If you think a match is wrong, or the system failed to identify you in a photo where you are present, you can ask a person to review it: email info@cosnap.ai.
Your Choices
Face Matching: Face matching is off unless you turn it on. Turn it off any time in Profile → Face matching data.
Access to Logic: You have the right to request further information about the logic involved in our automated decision-making by contacting info@cosnap.ai.
Affirmation
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have been informed of the use of automated decision-making technology and understand the logic and purpose of the AI systems employed by Cosnap Photos LLC.
